The summer transfer window thread
The time has come :)

So what do you think has got to be done in the summer regarding ins and outs?

the first out has to be the anti football dinosaur, nothing matters until he goes

Re: The summer transfer window thread
I'm operating on the assumption Paqueta is off

New right back to displace Coufal
New centre back to displace any of them
New centre mid to play alongside Alvarez
New Left wing to (kind of) replace Paqueta
New Striker to displace Antonio

Likely too optimistic. But that's the dream

About rght Dolph ( maybe 2 CBs) but as Mike says the most important thing is changing the manager for a more progressive, younger coach. If Sullivan and board dilly dally as is their history we will miss out on targets. Im hoping Steidten has done the due dilligence and analysis already and its getting the board vote but a board with Sullivan and Brady is not confidence inspiring. Kretinsky and Gold’s son in law not sure who else. But with so much transfer activity required we need a new coach asap.

It would be so WestHam though to retain Moyes even if , as expected, we dont make Europe and end mid table. Lack of ambition biting again and thinking small where they will see qtr final and top 7 until April as excelling and will try to say injuries deraild the season without seeing that it was Moyes appalling squad size, non existent squad development , oldest, smallest used by far and least subs that caused the injury problems etc

Dont be surprised if we fvck things up yet again by thinking small or thru fear of doing something bold.

Harry Maguire
Scott McTominay

Phil Neville if there's any change left

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Bit early?

But let's hope the club are one step ahead this time around!!!

First Cab off the rank has to be Moyes, if he's going then we hope the replacement is all but lined up, needs to be first one through the door, if he stays (don't think he will) then no dithering if you please.

Just hope we know who we are after and we can get it done early, same with outgoings, if they are going get it down sharpish.

Get it done early, the new manager (hopefully) and new players get plenty of time to bed in and gel before the season starts.

Wont be holding my breath on any of this though! LOL

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Agree with dolph about the positions required.

Personally I like Mavropanos and think he will improve.

I will try and be realistic and give targets that I think we can get:

RB Wan-Bissaka (out of contract??)
CB Hermaso (Athletico Madrid CB available on a free)
CB Harwood-Bellis or Ronnie Edwards as back up (£20m / £10m)
LB Tierney (back up / competition for Emerson £10-15m)
DM André Trindade da Costa Neto (linked in the summer.. now playing for Brazil) £30m?
DM Give Downes a chance (but I'm sure TS will have options in mind)
AM Gibbs-White (£50m?)
FW En-Nesyri (only 26 and available for £17m)

I'm sure Steidten will have several unknown to us who may prove to be cheaper / better options

Unless the jock cunt is fucked off it doesn't matter who we get in as he'll just ruin them. So as a priority the first bit of transfer business needs to be the manager

Someone between the age of 28 to 32 with proven prem experience and zero pace

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Tak has it right. Totally pointless discussing transfers whilst Moyes is still the manager. He will never change the way he sets a side up regardless of whoever is in the squad.

Your a nauseating cunt, Barty. I noticed it was you that bumped the Israel thread that had died. Prick.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
Unfortunately for some I see Moyes signing his new contract, I see us signing Broja at a discount.

I can see us going after Smith Rowe for the left and McTominay to bolster our midfield.

Wan- Bissaka would fit in nice on the right side to alternate with Coufal with Coufal being the back up.

Gibbs white to replace Paqueta.

Just need a center half and a replacement for Cresswell and we’re set for another European campaign.

BOSS Russell Martin reiterated his belief that Flynn Downes is one of the best players in the Championship after his last-gasp winner.

The 25 year old West Ham loanee struck in the 99th minute to send Watford home pointless with a 3-2 win over the Hornets at St Mary's.

Midfielder Will Smallbone was voted man of the match by the supporters but Downes was a stand-out in equal measure.

Downes made more tackles and interceptions than any other player on the pitch in another colossal performance.

Speaking after the match, Martin told the Daily Echo: "I don't think it could have fallen to a better person to score.

"The person who scored, the one who deserves it, it would have to be him, I think. The way he's played over the season he's been here.

"For a loan player, it's the commitment, the character he's got, the desire to win, the athleticism," he continued.

"As I said to you before, I think he's the best in the league for a lot of reasons. I think he's shown that again with the performance today."

We should sign this lad in the summer.

I would ship Cresswell, Zouma, Mavropanos, Ogbonna, Kehrer, Cornet, Antonio and Ings out and bring Flynn Downes back to the squad then give Steidten a proper budget to fill the gaps and choose a new manager

Re: The summer transfer window thread
I see the new financial fair play rules being brought in will mean a 50 million budget based on our revenue of £237 million. Rich 7 clubs have typically double that with stadium naming rights, commercials and champs league income. An enormous “barrier to entry” for any club outside the cartel of 6. Spurs have 400 million hence double the spending power for example but do need to make champs league on a regular basis to keep up.

We can only bridge the gap by getting ahead in recruitment and scouting or “pearl diving” and selling our best player every season or two. And of course getting a coach in who is tactically ahead of most others. Longer term we have to get naming rights via buying a stadium and getting into that top 4 ? Fvcking hard in other words :-(

Re: The summer transfer window thread
it's gatekeeping for the usual suspects. chelsea are pulling all sorts of tricks (the yank allegedly selling a hotel recently and adding the proceeds to the annual turnover) to get round the rules. cut them loose, let them fuck off to whatever stupid fucking super league they want and no return back

This was always going to happen. Fuck off. And take the vast majority of money and talent with us. Or stay. And keep the vast majority of money and talent with us.!

It was always a shakedown. The only option for the fans is. How you take your poison.?

The hotel was sold to another company owned by Todd Boehly as well.

Re: The summer transfer window thread
If that is the case with Chelsea's hotels the sale should not be included in their football and FFP income
Its the equivalent of the Man City charges which I understand are related to the owners giving money to associates who sponsor the club .... hence Man City supposedly having the biggest commercial income in world football
